Integrative Couple Therapy for Divorcing Couples

Abstract

|
Objectives: This case study used integrative couple therapy to help a couple overcome a divorce crisis.
Methods: The researchers conducted eight sessions of integrative couple therapy, including one follow-up session. The therapy approach was primarily based on solution-focused family therapy methods; however, Bowen¡¯s family system theory and art therapy were also employed.
Results: The results of the study reflected the impact of integrative couple therapy on the couple¡¯s divorce crises.
Conclusions: The integrative couple therapy used in the study was effective in changing the couple¡¯s situation.
